The Leopard

Alex Campbell
Hello, my name is Alexander Campbell and I’m the editor for Arts and Entertainment in

the Leopard student newspaper. I’ve been attending East for three years now, and will graduate

in 2021.

In my spare time I’m a varsity coxswain for Utah Crew, and we pride ourselves on being

the fastest rowing team not only in Utah, but as well as the rest of the mountain west states. I was

born in Salt Lake City, and I have four siblings, three brothers and a sister, named Armstrong,

Jason, Fernando, and Pilar. My parents are an aesthetician and contractor, respectively, and

adopted me when I was nine, followed by adopting a wonderful dog and a cat, each named Koa

and Annabelle.

A couple hobbies include working on cars in racing applications, mainly centered around

¼ mile drag racing and top-speed racing on the Bonneville salt flats, with my grandfather. I do

that as well as simulator racing for a private league on a Formula One simulator.

My Grandfather, in a few ways, is an idol of mine, of which I have a few. Some of my

idols include Sebastian Vettel, a German racing driver who races for Scuderia Ferrari Formula

One team, as well as both of my parents, for always being there when times are tough, as well as

being so caring and generous with their time in raising me.

Since I’ve joined the journalism team here, I’ve learned how to focus on my writing and

that has led me to apply for an editor position here at the Leopard. In the time I will be writing

this year, I’ll primarily be focusing on Arts and Entertainment, as well as motorsports and
