The Leopard

Kristi Harris
Kristi Harris came into the world with a bang on June 11, 2000. This day was supposed to be her brother Sterling’s special day because he was getting awarded in scouts. That’s not how that day went though. Kristi’s mother, Penny, went into labor that morning when her husband, Sterling Sr., was not around. An ambulance took her to the hospital, which turned out to be the wrong hospital. This meant that Sterling was going to the wrong hospital. When he got there, he was told that she was transmitted to a different hospital. Once he got to the correct hospital, Kristi was on her to being born. This was the perfect moment for her father to pass out and miss the whole birth. He still gets reminded of that to this day. Kristi was born at 2:59 p.m. in Salt Lake City. She is the youngest of 5 kids, three boys and two girls. She is now 17 years old in her Senior year of high school. One of Kristi’s favorite things to do is write. Her dream is to become a journalist at a big-time newspaper. She has a great passion for writing about interesting and breaking news going on in the world. This is her third year in Journalism and is the editor of Hard News. She plans to go to Dixie State University in Utah for two years then transfer to Indiana University at Purdue University in Indianapolis. Her favorite sport to play is basketball, however, her favorite sport to watch is football. She played on a Junior Jazz team while attending Clayton Middle School. Some of her hobbies include writing, photography, riding horses, camping, and four wheeling. She is very adventurous and hopes to travel the world, learning about different cultures and experiencing life in new places.
